I have a serious love for Nutella. I can eat it straight from the jar on a spoon! I really hate the fact that it has both sugar and dairy in it, so I decided to make my own. I did still have to use sugar, however I used coconut sugar, which is both natural and unrefined. This Nutella recipe is really easy to make, and only takes about 20 minutes.

Ingredients

1 cup of hazelnuts

1 desert spoon of coconut oil

1/4 cup cocoa powder*

1/4 cup coconut sugar

1 tsp vanilla

1 pinch salt

Method

Roast your hazelnuts in a 150C/300F oven for about 12 minutes (you could even buy pre-roasted hazelnuts). Use a tea towel, or just your hands to rub off the hazelnut skins. Most of them come off really easily, there might be a few stubborn ones, but it doesn’t really matter.

Place the hazelnuts in a high power blender or food processor. In the first 1-2 minutes, the nuts will be very crumbly, but as you keep processing, the natural oils will release and the hazelnuts will eventually resemble butter. Remember to keep scraping down the sides of the blender/food processor as you go.

Add the coconut oil and blend until smooth. Then add the remaining ingredients and blend again.

That’s all! Instant Nutella, and deliciously dark and rich. This is definitely going to be a pantry staple for me. I shared it this morning with a friend on Sonoma spelt toast with sliced banana.

In the above photo, you can see that the consistency is less creamy when compared with the conventional nutella on the left, but this recipe is more wholesome, and much better for you!

Hot Mess Sweatshirt Dress | Prudent Baby
Using two sweaters, a little bit of altering and sewing you end up with this super comfy looking dress. OK, so you might not be able to wear it to a nightclub but for grocery shopping or hanging out, this would be perfect!

Gold Mylar Heart Pinata | Studio DIY
For some reason pinatas are so expensive - especially for something you end up smashing to bits! Making your own is a much easier and cheaper alternative, but they can be hard to make. This design is simple yet oh-so-pretty. If you can’t bear to hit it, it would also make a great decoration!

Ribbon Wreath | The Long Thread
This is meant to be a ‘Halloween’ wreath, but I loved it so much I’m thinking I need to make it right now! And it couldn’t be simpler to make - all you need is the basic wreath form and a ton of ribbon. I love the black but for a more everyday look I’m thinking of cream or pink. Even a mix of colours would be fun (pastels for Easter?).

Garlands are a great way to add some colour to a plain wall, but not everyone loves bunting flags. This knotted rope garland is a great alternative and perfect for those who want something clean yet colourful.

I’ve been cross stitching like crazy lately and devouring any free patterns I can find! The Making Spot is a fantastic mix of free & pay patterns, tutorials and tips. I adore those flower patterns on the right - they would be great on a ring or hair pin.

Anthro Inspired Mugs | Home Heart Craft
Sharpie designed mugs are all over Pintrest and these are some of the sweetest I’ve seen. So perfect to add some colour to your life! I’m not so sure about decorating so close to the rim… I’m not sure how it would go with chipping (you don’t want baked Sharpie ink in your mouth!)
